OLD FASHIONED TEA CAKES

1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. butter or margarine
1 3/4 c. sugar
1 egg
1/4 c. buttermilk
2 Tbsp. vinegar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. lemon extract
1/2 tsp. soda
2 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 c. pecans

Cream together softened shortening, butter and sugar.
Add egg, buttermilk, vinegar, vanilla and extract. Stir
together soda and flour and stir into batter. Add pecans and
drop by teaspoon onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees until
golden brown (10 minutes or so).
