BUTTER NUT CHEWIES

1/2 c. margarine
1 c. pecans
2 eggs
2 c. unsifted all-purpose
flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray Pam into 13 x 9 x 2-inch
baking dish. Melt margarine. Chop pecans. Beat eggs until
light and foamy. Beat in flour, baking soda and salt. Add to
egg mixture and blend. Stir in pecans at low speed. (Mixture
will be fairly stiff.)
Spread evenly into prepared pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30
minutes or until top is light brown. (Toothpick test does not
work with these cookie bars because they are chewy.) Cool 10 to
15 minutes, cut into squares. Makes 24 squares.
