JEWISH APPLE CAKE

3 c. flour
2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
3 tsp. baking powder
1 c. Wesson oil
4 eggs
1 1/2 c. orange juice
2 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Sift together flour, sugar, salt and baking powder. Add
remaining ingredients. Beat together until thick and smooth.
Apple mixture: Peel and slice thin 6 apples. Add 3 teaspoons
sugar. Grease a 10-inch tube pan. Pour 1/2 batter into pan.
Spread 3/4 apple mixture over the batter. Add remaining batter
and arrange remaining apples on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 to 60
minutes.
