CHOCOLATE BROWNIE CAKE 2 c. flour 1/2 lb. margarine 1 c. water 2 eggs 1/2 c. buttermilk 6 Tbsp. milk 1/2 c. nuts 2 c. granulated sugar 6 to 7 Tbsp. cocoa 1/2 c. cooking oil 2 tsp. vanilla 1 tsp. baking soda 1 lb. powdered sugar Mix flour and granulated sugar together. Heat 1/4 pound margarine, 3 to 4 tablespoons cocoa, water and oil in a saucepan to boiling point, stirring constantly. Combine these 2 mixtures then add eggs, 1 teaspoon vanilla, buttermilk and baking soda. Pour into 9 x 13-inch cake pan or baking dish. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes. Icing: 1/4 lb. margarine milk 3 Tbsp. cocoa 1 tsp. vanilla nuts Heat margarine, milk and cocoa to boiling point. Remove from heat, add powdered sugar and beat until smooth. Add vanilla and nuts. Ice cake while cake is still hot.
