BLONDE BROWNIES 2/3 c. shortening 2 c. brown sugar 2 tsp. vanilla 2 eggs 2 c. flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. baking soda 1 c. pecans, chopped 1 c. chocolate chips Melt shortening; add brown sugar and vanilla. Cool slightly. Add eggs and blend well. Add dry ingredients gradually. Add pecans. Pour into greased 9 x 13-inch pan. Sprinkle chocolate chips over the top. Bake 20 to 25 minutes at 350 degrees.
