PEANUT BUTTER CRINKLES

1 c. margarine
1 c. peanut butter
1 c. sugar
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. unsifted flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
sugar, nuts, chocolate Kisses,
jam or jelly

In bowl with mixer at medium speed beat margarine,
peanut butter, sugar, brown sugar, eggs and vanilla together
until fluffy. At low speed beat in flour, baking powder,
baking soda and salt. Shape into 1-inch balls; roll in sugar.
Place 2-inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 350 degrees
for 12 to 15 minutes or until browned. Immediately press nuts,
or candies into cookies, or press with thumb and fill with jam
or jelly. Cool, store in airtight container. Makes 6 dozen.
