CARAMEL CORN

5 qt. popped corn
1 c. margarine or butter
2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. dark corn syrup
1 tsp. salt
pinch of cream of tartar

Mix in large saucepan margarine or butter, brown sugar,
dark corn syrup, salt and cream of tartar. Boil five minutes.
Remove from heat and add 1 scant teaspoon soda and vanilla.
Stir well and pour over corn, stirring to coat all the corn.
Bake at 250 degrees for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
