SALTED PEANUT CHEWS

1 1/2 c. flour
2/3 c. packed brown sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. margarine
1 tsp. vanilla
2 egg yolks
3 c. miniature marshmallows

Topping:
2/3 c. corn syrup
1/4 c. margarine
12 oz. Reese's peanut butter
chips
2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. Rice Krispies
2 c. cocktail peanuts

Spoon flour into measuring cup. Combine all ingredients
except marshmallows. Mix and press in 9 x 13-inch ungreased
pan. Bake 12 to 15 minutes at 350 degrees, until golden brown.
Remove from oven and sprinkle with the marshmallows; return to
oven for 1 or 2 minutes (when they begin to puff). Cool and
prepare topping.
Topping: In a large pan, heat corn syrup, margarine,
Reese's chips (other peanut butter chips taste rancid) and
vanilla; stir until chips are melted and mixture is smooth.
Stir constantly. Remove from heat and stir in Rice Krispies
and peanuts. Spoon warm topping over cooled marshmallows and
spread.
