CASHEW CREAM COOKIES

1/2 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar, packed
1 egg
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/3 c. commercial sour cream
2 c. sifted flour
3/4 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. salted cashew nuts,
cut up

Golden Butter Frosting:
1/2 c. butter
3 Tbsp. coffee cream
1/4 tsp. vanilla
2 c. sifted confectioners
sugar

Cream butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
Beat in egg and vanilla. Add sifted dry ingredients alternate-
ly with sour cream and mix well. Fold in cashew nuts. Drop by
teaspoons onto greased cookie sheets. Bake at 400 degrees for 6 to 10
minutes (until golden brown). Cool. Makes 5 dozen cookies.
Frost with Golden Butter Frosting.
Brown butter lightly, remove from heat. Add cream and
vanilla, stir in sugar and heat until smooth. Top each frosted
cookie with half a cashew nut.
