STEAMED CHERRY PUDDING

Pudding:

1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 1/2 c. flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 c. milk
2 c. pitted drained cherries

Cherry Sauce:
1/2 c. sugar
2 level Tbsp. flour or 1 Tbsp.
cornstarch
1/2 c. water
1/2 c. cherry juice
2 Tbsp. butter

Pudding: Cream together butter and sugar. Add eggs and
beat thoroughly. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
Add milk to mixture alternately with sifted ingredients. Fold
cherries into batter. Bake uncovered in buttered casserole
dish at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Serve with cherry sauce.
Cherry Sauce: Combine ingredients and cook over low
heat until thick.
