MOM'S CHOCOLATE CAKE

1/2 c. soft margarine
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1/2 c. sour milk*
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. boiling water
2 c. flour
1/2 c. cocoa
2 tsp. soda

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
*To make 1/2 cup sour milk, add 1 tablespoon vinegar or
lemon juice to milk.
Cream margarine, sugar and eggs. Add sour milk and
vanilla and mix. Blend flour, cocoa and soda and mix with
creamed ingredients, add water and mix well. Pour into greased
and floured 9 x 13-inch or two 9-inch pans. Bake at 375 degrees for
20 to 25 minutes. Check with toothpick for doneness.
