TURTLE CAKE

1 pkg. German chocolate cake
mix
1 (14 oz.) Kraft caramels
1/2 c. margarine
1/2 c. evaporated milk
1 c. chocolate chips
1 1/2 c. chopped pecans

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour oblong pan. Melt
caramels, butter and milk in double boiler, stirring until
melted. Set aside. Prepare the cake according to directions
on box. Pour half of the batter into cake pan. Bake for 15
minutes. Remove from oven and pour caramel mixture over cake.
Sprinkle chocolate chips and pecans over caramel mixture. Pour
remainder of cake over chocolate chips and pecans. Bake 20 to
25 minutes longer.
