DOLLAR GOURMET TREAT OR OLIVE NUT SURPRISE 6 oz. cream cheese (room temperature) 1/2 c. mayonnaise 1/2 c. chopped pecans 2 tsp. olive juice dash of pepper 1 c. chopped olives (salad olives are already pieces and much cheaper to buy) Mash cream cheese with fork and gradually add the mayonnaise. Add pecans, olives, olive juice and pepper. Do not add salt! Stir well. This will be mushy. Put in a jar and refrigerate 24 to 48 hours. It will become thick. Makes 1 pint. Serve on thin toast, crackers or make finger sandwiches. At the time this recipe came out, ingredients for the complete recipe could be purchased for 1 dollar; hence the name.
