"BILL'S" CARAMEL CORN 5 to 6 qt. popcorn 2 c. brown sugar 1/2 lb. butter or margarine 1/2 c. white corn syrup 1 tsp. vanilla 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. baking soda salted peanuts (optional) Put popped corn in large roaster. Mix brown sugar, butter or margarine and corn syrup in saucepan. Boil 5 min- utes; remove from heat. Add vanilla, salt and soda. Blend well and pour over popped corn. Mix well, making sure you get to the bottom. Heat oven to 250 degrees. Heat popcorn mixture 40 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes, getting to the bottom. May add salted peanuts.
