FRUITED CREAM CHEESE 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened choice of prepared fruit 2 Tbsp. powdered sugar Combine cream cheese, prepared fruit and powdered sugar; beat at medium speed of an electric mixer until smooth. Chill until ready to serve. Yield: 1 cup. Serve with pound cake, date-nut bread or miniature biscuits. Strawberry: Coarsely chop 6 medium strawberries. Gently press strawberries between paper towels to remove moisture. Pineapple: Drain one 8 ounce can crushed pineapple. Gently press the crushed pineapple between paper towels to remove moisture. Orange: Press 1/4 cup chopped orange sections between paper towels to remove moisture; stir in 1 1/2 teaspoons Grand Marnier or other orange-flavored liqueur. Peach: Coarsely chop 2 canned peach halves. Gently press peaches between paper towels to remove excess moisture; stir in 1/2 teaspoon almond extract. Cherry: Coarsely chop 1/4 cup drained maraschino cherries. Press cherries between paper towels to remove moisture; stir in 1/4 teaspoon almond extract.
