PEAR-CHERRY PRESERVES 4 c. prepared pears 2 Tbsp. lemon juice 5 c. sugar 1 box Sure-Jell fruit pectin 1 small pkg. cherry flavor Kool-Aid, unsweetened Stir Sure-Jell fruit pectin, lemon juice, cherry flavor Kool-Aid into prepared fruit. Bring to a full boil over high heat, stirring constantly. Stir in sugar, stir and bring to a full rolling boil. Boil hard for three minutes or so, stirring constantly. Remove from heat, skim off foam, fill jars immedi- ately and seal with hot lids, screw bands on firmly. May use other fruit flavor Kool-Aid for variation.
