PLAY DOUGH 1 c. flour 1/2 c. salt 2 Tbsp. cream of tartar 1 c. water 2 tsp. food color This play dough is as good or better then the commer- cially made. It is lovely to knead while warm! Mix dry ingre- dients in a medium pot. Add water and food color (more or less to get desired color; make orange, purple, turquoise by mixing colors). Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly about 3 to 5 minutes. It will look like a globby mess that can't be turning out right, but it is! Scrape out onto counter and knead until smooth and hanging together. Store in airtight container.
