GARLIC GRITS CASSEROLE

1 c. grits (not instant)
1 tsp. salt
4 1/2 c. water
1/2 c. milk
2 sticks butter
1 c. shredded sharp Cheddar
cheese
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
2 eggs
pinch of cayenne pepper
1 c. buttered corn flake
crumbs

Cook grits in boiling, salted water until done; cool
slightly. Add butter, cheese and garlic powder. Beat eggs
with milk; add to grits. Add cayenne pepper. Pour into
greased baking dish; top with corn flake crumbs. Bake at 350 degrees
for about 45 minutes, until firm in center. Makes about 12
servings.
