OVEN CARAMEL CORN

1 c. butter
2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. light Karo syrup
1 to 2 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. soda
6 to 10 qt. popped corn
1 or 2 c. peanuts

Place popcorn in a large roaster in oven to keep warm
(200 degrees). Melt butter; stir in syrup, sugar and salt. This
should be put in a large pan. Boil for 5 minutes on lowest
heat possible, without stirring. Remove from heat. Stir in
soda and vanilla. Stir fast. The soda will expand when added
to hot syrup. Pour over popcorn and nuts; coat well. Put in
250 degrees oven for 1 hour. Stir every 15 minutes. Cool.
