whole cloves
6 oranges
1 gal. apple cider
1/3 c. sugar
1 c. lemon juice
10 (2-inch) cinnamon sticks
2 c. vodka
1/4 c. brandy

Insert cloves in oranges about 1/2-inch apart. Place
oranges in a 15 x 10 x 1-inch jelly roll pan. Bake at 350 degrees for
30 minutes. Combine apple cider and sugar in a large Dutch
oven. Cook over medium heat until mixture simmers. Add lemon
juice, cinnamon sticks and oranges; cover and cook over low
heat 30 minutes. Add vodka and brandy; stir well. Serve warm.
Yield: 4 1/2 quarts.
