CANNED APPLE PIE FILLING 1 c. sugar 1 c. cornstarch 1/4 tsp. nutmeg 2 tsp. cinnamon 1/4 tsp. cloves 1 tsp. almond extract 1/4 tsp. salt 1 c. water 3 tsp. lemon juice Bring to boil 10 cups water and 3 1/2 cups sugar. In large bowl mix all ingredients. Then add slowly to boiling water mixture and boil until clear. Pour over apples in jars, seal and process in hot water bath for 25 minutes. Yields 7 quarts. I cut my apples into cold salt water before jarring and they keep their white color.
