MARASCHINO CHERRIES 3 c. sugar 1 c. water 4 c. pitted cherries (Royal Anne) 1 tsp. red food coloring 1 tsp. almond extract Mix sugar, water and coloring. Boil 3 minutes. Add cherries and flavoring to syrup. Cook slowly 20 to 25 minutes or until juice is thickened. Seal in sterilized jars.
