APPLE FRITTERS

1 c. sifted flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 c. sugar
1 1/4 tsp. salt
1 egg, beaten
1/2 c. milk
1 Tbsp. Spry, melted
2 large apples, pared and
sliced in eighths

Sift flour, baking powder, sugar and salt together.
Combine egg and milk; add to dry ingredients, beating until
smooth. Add Spry and mix well. Dip apples in batter and fry
in deep, hot Spry (375 degrees) about 4 minutes or until brown.
Banana Fritter: Cut 2 bananas lengthwise and into 1
inch pieces. Dip and fry.
Pineapple Fritter: Cut 5 slices canned pineapple in
quarters; dip and fry.
