MICROWAVE RICE 2 c. rice 1 tsp. salt 1 Tbsp. butter 4 c. water Put 4 cups water, 1 tablespoon butter and 1 teaspoon salt in a 2 quart casserole dish; cover. Put in microwave oven on High for 4 minutes. Take dish out of oven. Wash rice. Return to oven and cover. Cook for 18 minutes on moderate heat. Remove from oven. Let stand, covered, until all water is absorbed, about 5 minutes.
