APPLE PIE SHAKE
(Serves 4)
1 (16 oz.) can unsweetened
applesauce
1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 pt. vanilla ice cream,
softened
1 1/2 c. milk
apple slices (optional)

In a blender container mix applesauce and cinnamon, then
cover and blend until nearly smooth. Add ice cream, then cover
and blend until smooth. Pour into an 8 x 4 x 2-inch or 9 x 5 x
3-inch loaf pan or 1 quart freezer container. Cover and freeze
until serving time. To serve, let mixture stand at room
temperature about 20 minutes or until partially thawed.
Transfer 1/2 mixture into blender and add 1/2 the milk. Cover
and blend until smooth. Pour into glasses. Repeat with
remaining mixture and milk. If desired, garnish with apple
slices. Makes 4 (8 ounce) servings.
Note: We keep the ice cream mixture in the freezer for
a special occasion or special day, so there is nothing to
prepare early.
