POPCORN BALLS

7 c. popped corn, Kix,
Cheerios, Sugar Jets or
Trix
1 c. sugar
1/3 c. water
1/3 c. light corn syrup
1 tsp. salt
1/4 c. butter

Mix all ingredients in a saucepan, except the popped
corn. Cook to 250 degrees or until a few drops form a hard ball when
dropped into cold water. Remove from heat. Stir in 1 teaspoon
vanilla. Pour in thin stream over the popped corn or other
cereal, stirring constantly to mix well. Shape with buttered
hands into balls or any other shape. Yields 12 to 15 large
balls.
