SLOW COOKED APPLE BUTTER

12 c. chopped apples
(Jonathan, Red or Golden
Delicious)
1 tsp. cinnamon
3/4 c. sugar or 32 pkg.
artificial sweetener
1/2 tsp. cloves
3/4 c. apple cider

Combine apples and cider in 3 quart crock-pot. Cover
and cook on low 8 hours or until apples are soft. Puree
apples; add sugar and spices and return to crock-pot. Cover
and cook on low for 1 to 2 more hours. Apple butter will keep
several weeks in refrigerator or may be frozen. Makes about 3
pints.
