LEMON SYRUP

12 lemons

Take the juice of lemons, grate the rind of six in it,
let it stand overnight. Then take 6 pounds of sugar and make a
thick syrup. When it is quite cool, strain the lemon juice
into it and squeeze as much oil from the grated rind as will
suit the taste. A tablespoon in a goblet of cold water until
make a delicious drink on a hot day.
