MICRO-QUICK DOUGH ORNAMENTS 3 c. flour 1 c. salt 1 1/4 c. water food coloring (if desired) Combine flour and salt. Add coloring to water and then mix water thoroughly with dry ingredients. Knead dough well for five minutes or until smooth. Roll dough 1/4-inch thick on a sheet of waxed paper that has been cut to fit glass tray in the microwave oven. Cut designs with cookie cutters and carefully remove any excess dough. Pierce surface of ornaments with a toothpick to eliminate air bubbles. Make hole on top of ornament for hanging. Slide waxed paper sheet into microwave. Bake on High power for 2 to 3 minutes or until firm and dry. Cool, then remove ornaments. Paint with tempera paint, if desired, when ornaments are completely cool. Varnish front and back to seal out moisture and prevent deterioration.
