FRAGRANT GRAINS FROM THE MICROWAVE 2 c. chopped onions 1/4 tsp. minced fresh garlic or equivalent dried garlic 1 tsp. oil 1/2 c. golden raisins 2 Tbsp. fresh lemon juice 2 c. chicken stock or 3 c. water plus 1/2 tsp. vegit 1 Tbsp. minced preserved ginger 1/4 tsp. dried ground cardamon 1/4 tsp. dried ground cinnamon 1/8 tsp. cloves and freshly ground pepper 1 c. chick peas, cooked 2 c. coarse or medium grind bulgur In two quart microwave casserole, saute onions and garlic in oil for 5 minutes on full power, stirring once after three minutes. Add raisins, lemon juice, ginger and spices. Stir and microwave on full power one minute, stirring once halfway through. Add chicken stock (or substitute) and bring to a boil on High power. Add chick peas and bulgur and stir. Bring to a boil on High power and stir, making sure that bulgur is covering with liquid. Cover and let stand until liquid is absorbed, about five minutes.
