BEEF AND RICE CASSEROLE|
(Serves 6 To 8)
1 lb. lean ground beef
1 can (16 oz.) stewed tomatoes
1 can (16 oz.) cut green
1/2 c. uncooked rice
1 Tbsp. instant minced onion
1 Tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp. dry mustard
1/8 tsp. garlic powder
1/8 tsp. pepper
Crumble ground beef into 2-quart microproof casserole.
Cover with waxed paper and cook on High (Maximum power) 5 to 6
minutes. Stir once during cooking time to break up pieces.
Drain fat. Stir in all remaining ingredients. Cover and cook
on High (Maximum power) 9 to 10 minutes or until mixture boils.
Stir mixture, cover and cook on 20 (Low) for 10 minutes.
Stir, cover and cook on 70 (Roast) for 5 minutes or until rice
is tender and liquid absorbed. Let stand 5 minutes before
