MICROWAVE IRISH STEW 2 lb. beef for stew, cut into 1-inch cubes 1/2 tsp. salt 1 (1 1/2 oz.) pkg. brown gravy mix with mushrooms 1 c. water 3 stalks celery, cut into 1-inch slices 3 medium carrots, sliced 3 medium potatoes, peeled and cut into eighths Place beef cubes in a 3 quart microwave casserole dish or baking dish. Sprinkle with salt. Stir together gravy mix and water. Pour over meat. Cook, covered, on Roast for 50 minutes, stirring once during cooking. Then add vegetables and mix to cover with gravy. Cook, covered, on simmer 40 to 50 minutes or until vegetables and meat are tender. Let stand 5 minutes before serving. Total cooking time: 1 hour and 35 minutes.
