MICROWAVE RICH DOUGH

1 (1/4 oz.) pkg. active dry
yeast
1/4 c. very warm water
1/4 c. butter or margarine
1/2 c. milk (room temperature)
1 large egg (room temperature)
2 Tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
2 1/2 to 3 1/2 c. all-purpose
flour

Sprinkle yeast over water in a cup or small bowl. Stir
until yeast is dissolved. Microwave butter in a large bowl,
uncovered, at High power just until melted (45 to 60 seconds).
Whisk in milk, egg, sugar and salt; stir in yeast mixture.
Add flour (1/2 cup at a time), beating well after each addi-
tion. Use as much of the flour as needed to form stiff dough.
