MICROWAVE PEPPER STEAK 2 lb. beef flank steak 1/4 c. water 1/4 c. soy sauce 1 tsp. garlic salt 1/2 tsp. sugar 1/4 tsp. ginger 1/8 tsp. pepper 2 green peppers, cut up 2 tomatoes, quartered 1 can bean sprouts, drained 1 Tbsp. cornstarch 6 Tbsp. cold water Slice flank steak across grain into thin strips. Mix 1/4 cup water, soy sauce, garlic salt, sugar, ginger and pepper in a 2 1/2-quart microwave oven safe oval casserole. Add meat; turn to coat. Cover with plastic wrap. Sit in refrigerator to marinate 1 to 3 hours. Add green pepper pieces to meat. Cook, covered, in microwave oven 5 minutes at Medium-High; stir once. Add tomatoes and bean sprouts; cook, covered, 5 to 10 minutes at Medium-High or until meat is tender. Stir once. Mix cornstarch with cold water; stir into mixture. Cook, uncovered, in microwave 2 to 3 minutes at High or until thick- ened; stir once. Serve with hot rice.
