1/2 c. butter or margarine
1/4 c. dark corn syrup
2 c. quick cooking oats
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt
1 (6 oz.) pkg. milk chocolate
1/4 c. chopped nuts (walnuts
Place butter in a large glass mixing bowl. Microwave on
High (100%) for 45 seconds to 1 minute or until melted. Stir
in oats, sugar, corn syrup, vanilla and salt. Press dough
evenly in bottom of a greased 8 x 8 x 2-inch baking dish.
Microwave on High (100%) for 3 to 4 minutes, until bubbly.
Turn dish a half turn halfway through cooking. Spread surface
evenly. Sprinkle chocolate morsels over top. Microwave on
Medium (50%) for 4 to 6 minutes or until chocolate morsels are
melted. Spread chocolate evenly over crust. Sprinkle with
nuts. Chill one hour. Cut into bars. Recipe yields 12 bars.
