IRISH STEW 2 lb. beef for stew, cut in 1-inch cubes 1/2 tsp. salt 1 pkg. (1 1/2 oz.) brown gravy mix with mushrooms 1 c. water 3 stalks celery, cut in 1-inch slices 3 medium carrots, sliced 3 medium potatoes, peeled and cut in eighths Total cooking time: 1 hour and 30 minutes to 1 hour and 40 minutes. Place beef cubes in 3 quart microproof casserole or baking dish. Sprinkle with salt, stir together gravy mix and water. Pour over meat. Cook, covered on 70 (Roast), 50 minutes, stirring once during cooking. Add vegetables and mix to cover with gravy. Cook, covered, on 50 (Simmer), 40 to 50 minutes or until vegetables and meat are tender. Let stand 5 minutes before serving. Serves 4 to 6.
