STUFFED PEPPERS

3 medium green peppers
1/4 c. chopped onion
3/4 lb. ground beef
1 can tomato sauce
1/4 c. water
1 c. cooked rice
1 egg
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper

Remove cores from green peppers. Put pepper halves skin
side up on paper towels. Cook uncovered in microwave oven 6
minutes at High. Set aside. Combine onion and beef in an
8-inch round glass cake dish. Cover with wax paper. Cook in
microwave oven 4 minutes at High or until meat is no longer
pink and break meat apart with a wooden spoon and drain off
fat.
Mix tomato sauce and water; combine with beef mixture
with cooked rice, half of tomato mixture, egg, salt and pepper.
Stuff pepper halves and place in an 8-inch square glass baking
dish. Pour remaining sauce over top. Cover with wax paper.
Cook in microwave 10 to 12 minutes on High. Rotate dish one
half turn after 5 minutes.
