TOMATO, HAMBURGER AND RICE SOUP

1/2 lb. ground beef
3 Tbsp. flour
2 c. tomato juice
1/2 c. quick cooking rice
2 Tbsp. sugar
1 1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. onion powder
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 bay leaf
1 1/2 c. milk

Crumble ground beef into 2-quart casserole. Microwave
at High 1 1/2 to 2 minutes or until meat is no longer pink,
stirring after half the cooking time. Drain. Stir in flour.
Mix in tomato juice, rice, sugar, seasoning and bay leaf.
Cover. Microwave at High 5 to 6 minutes or until rice is
tender, stirring twice during cooking. Slowly blend in milk.
Microwave, uncovered, at High, 3 to 5 minutes or until hot,
stirring once during cooking.
