LASAGNA

1 lb. ground beef
1 jar (32 oz.) spaghetti sauce
1/4 c. water
2 c. small curd cottage cheese
1 Tbsp. basil
1/2 c. Parmesan cheese
1/2 tsp. pepper
12 lasagna noodles, uncooked
grated Mozzarella cheese (2 c.
pkg.)
1 egg

Brown ground beef 2 to 3 minutes on High. Stir in
spaghetti sauce, water and basil. In medium bowl combine
cottage cheese, Parmesan cheese, egg and pepper. In 12 x
7-inch baking dish spoon layer of sauce, then the noodles, then
cottage cheese mixture and then Mozzarella cheese. Repeat
layers ending with meat sauce and Mozzarella cheese on top.
Cook on High 8 minutes tightly covered. Microwave at 50%
(Medium) 30 to 35 minutes until noodles are tender; let stand
15 minutes, covered.
Tips: It seems to help by making the dish ahead and
letting stand a few hours or even overnight in the refrigera-
tor. The noodles didn't seem to be as starchy.
