1 (6 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet
1/2 c. chopped almonds
1/4 c. packed brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 c. peanut butter
1 1/2 c. oats
1/4 c. wheat germ
1/8 c. honey
1/4 c. chopped apricots
1/4 c. shredded coconut
1/4 c. raisins
Place oats in 10-inch round baking dish. Microwave on
Cook for 3 minutes, stirring twice. Mix in nuts, wheat germ
and sugar. Stir in honey and vanilla. Microwave on Cook for 3
to 5 minutes; stir twice. Add coconut, apricots and raisins to
cereal mix. Stir occasionally as granola cools to break up.
Set aside (all leftovers can be stored in airtight jar for
future use). Put chocolate pieces in 2 quart bowl. Microwave
on Cook for 1 to 2 minutes. Stir in peanut butter, blending
until smooth. Fold in granola (about 3 cups). Turn mix into a
2 quart casserole, lined with waxed paper. Chill until set,
about 1 hour. Cut into bars. Store in refrigerator.
