CHERRY SAUCE WITH BRANDY

1/2 c. sugar
1/4 c. brandy
1 1/2 Tbsp. cornstarch
1 (1 lb.) can pitted cherries
in heavy syrup
1 Tbsp. lemon juice

Combine sugar and cornstarch in a 1 quart glass bowl.
Gradually add brandy, stirring to make a smooth paste. Add
lemon juice and cherries. Stir in with plastic spatula to
blend everything together well. Cover bowl and microwave on
Cook for 10 to 13 minutes, until sauce is hot and thickened,
stirring twice. Serve warm over ice cream or cake.
