MICROWAVE FRENCH ONION SOUP 4 to 5 large onions, sliced 1/4 c. butter or margarine 1 can (10 3/4 oz.) chicken broth 1 can (10 3/4 oz.) beef broth water 8 oz. shredded Swiss cheese toasted French bread slices 1/4 c. grated Parmesan cheese Combine onions and butter in a 3 quart casserole. Cover. Microwave at High 6 1/2 to 8 1/2 minutes or until the onions are soft and translucent. Pour chicken and beef broth into 4 cup measure. Add water to make 1 quart. Stir into onions. Cover. Microwave 4 to 6 minutes until heated through. Ladle soup into 4 individual casseroles. Top with bread slices to cover. Sprinkle with cheeses. Microwave 5 1/2 to 7 1/2 minutes until cheese melts. Rearrange dishes once or twice while cooking.
