CHILE CON QUESO (CHILI-CHEESE DIP)

Total cooking time: 7 minutes and 45 seconds.

1/2 c. finely chopped onion
1 Tbsp. butter or margarine
2 medium tomatoes, peeled,
seeded and chopped
1 1/2 c. shredded Cheddar
cheese
1 (4 oz.) can green chili
peppers, rinsed, seeded and
chopped
1/4 tsp. salt
milk
tortilla chips
In 1 quart casserole, cook onion in butter at High for 2
minutes or until tender, stirring once. Stir in tomatoes,
chilies and salt. Cook, covered at High, for 5 minutes. Stir
in cheese, a little at a time, stirring until melted. Stir in
a little milk if mixture becomes too thick. Heat at High for
45 seconds. Stir. Serve with tortilla chips. Makes 1 1/4
cups.
