1/2 c. chopped onion
8 oz. tomato sauce
1/4 tsp. chili powder or more
1 lb. ground beef
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
8 taco shells
1 c. shredded cheese
2 tomatoes, chopped
Crumble beef in a glass casserole; stir in onion.
Microwave on High for 5 to 6 minutes, stirring once until beef
is no longer pink. Drain off fat. Add remaining ingredients.
Microwave, covered 2/3 power, 5 to 7 minutes. Before serving,
warm taco shells in microwave. Then fill with meat mixture,
shredded cheese, shredded lettuce and chopped tomatoes.
Variations: Can also add chopped green pepper, sliced
olives, sliced mushrooms when serving.
