9 c. all-purpose flour 3 c. firmly packed brown sugar 3 c. granulated sugar 4 tsp. baking soda 1 Tbsp. sale 4 c. shortening 4 c. chopped pecans 4 (12 oz. each) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips In a very large bowl (about 10-quarts), combine ingredients. Cut in shortening. Stir in nuts and chocolate chips. Store in airtight container in a cool, dry place or in a freezer. If frozen, let stand for 15 minutes before using. Makes 4 batches of mix, about 28 cups. Cookies: 7 c. mix 2 eggs 2 tsp. vanilla Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In a large bowl, beat eggs and vanilla. Stir in cookie mix until well blended (if dough is dry, add 1 to 2 tablespoons of water). Drop by heaping teaspoonfuls onto prepared cookie sheets. Cook 8 to 10 minutes. Cool slightly on cookie sheets. Makes 4 dozen; contains 130 calories per cookie.
