Crust: 1/2 c. margarine 2 small pkg. cream cheese 1 c. flour Filling: 1 stick margarine 1 c. sugar 2 egg yolks 1 c. chopped pecans 1 small pkg. chopped dates 1 tsp. vanilla flavoring Crust: Mix margarine and cheese at room temperature. Mix in flour. Chill. Take small portions of dough and roll them. Cut with biscuit cutter, these will fit into small muffin tins. Filling: Mix together all ingredients. Beat two egg whites and fold into filling. Put into pastry shells and bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes or until set. Cool just a few minutes and run knife around edges. Sprinkle with powdered sugar. Cool and store in tight tin. You can freeze these. Makes four to five dozen.
