2 c. sifted flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1 egg 1 1/2 c. sugar 2 tsp. soda 1 tsp. vanilla 1 (#303) can fruit cocktail Sift dry ingredients in large bowl. Lightly beat egg. Add flour mixture. Stir in 1 can fruit cocktail; mix and add vanilla. Pour in well-greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan. Bake 40 minutes at 325 degrees until done. Fifteen minutes before cake is done, start preparing icing.
