FRENCH TOAST

1 c. sour milk
1/4 tsp. soda
1 egg
1 Tbsp. sugar
3/4 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
bread, cut into slices or halves

Beat milk and soda with eggbeater. Add sugar, salt and egg.
Continue beating until smooth. Beat in flour. Put in 4 to 5
tablespoons of shortening in frying pan. Dip the bread in batter
and fry like regular French toast.
