2 c. shredded peeled apples 2 c. shredded peeled pears 2 c. sugar 1 1/4 c. vegetable oil 1 c. raisins 1 c. chopped pecans 2 eggs, beaten 1 tsp. vanilla 3 c. flour 2 tsp. baking soda 2 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 tsp. nutmeg 1/2 tsp. salt Cream Cheese Frosting: 1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened 1/4 c. butter or margarine, softened 3 c. confectioners sugar 2 Tbsp. milk 1/2 tsp. vanilla In a large bowl, combine the first 8 ingredients. Combine dry ingredients; stir into the first mixture. Pour into a greased 13 x 9 pan and bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour or until done. Cool on a rack. For Frosting: Beat cream cheese and butter until fluffy. Add sugar, milk and vanilla and mix well. Spread over cooled cake and refrigerate. Yields 12 to 15 servings.
