CARAMELIZED ANGEL DESSERT

1/2 c. butter or margarine, softened
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1 Tbsp. lemon juice
1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
dash of nutmeg
6 slices angel food cake
1 c. mandarin oranges
sour cream (optional)

Cream butter, brown sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon and nutmeg.
Spread 1 tablespoon on the top and sides of each cake slice. Place
on a baking sheet. Broil 4 to 6-inches from heat for 1 to 2
minutes or until bubbly. Top with oranges and sour cream, if
desired. Yields 6 servings.
